What role does country ownership play for GCF projects and how does this relate to the NDCs? – NDCs as an important element for GCF project development
In this module, participants learn about the importance of country ownership and how it is operationalized in the GCF context. This provides a basis for looking into two dimensions of the according investment criterion, namely alignment with national policies and stakeholder engagement.
Both issues are exemplified through a more detailed review of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) against the backdrop of the Paris Agreement, and national NDC processes. Country programmes and pipelines serving to implement country priorities in NDCs and other national strategies and plans are an important element in this regard.
The exercise of the module complements the introductory presentation by an in-depth review of an NDC from a sector perspective.
